Our Tenets

These are the beliefs behind how we work.

At our core, we are builders.

We bias toward action, because wisdom is shown by what we build, not what we say. We make full use of the resources we've been given and stay efficient on the way to the outcome.

“Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.”
James 3:13

James is writing to believers about true wisdom. He says it isn't proven by talk but by good conduct and works, and that those works should be done with meekness, not pride.

“Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.”
John 6:12

Jesus had just fed 5,000 people from five loaves and two fish. Afterward he told the disciples to gather the leftover pieces so nothing would be wasted. They filled twelve baskets.

We build to leave a better Garden.

Our work is for the generations after us. We were entrusted with this world, and we intend to leave it better than we found it.

“And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.”
Genesis 2:15

Before the fall, God placed Adam in Eden and gave him work. The Hebrew words mean to cultivate the garden and to guard or keep it.

We build people, not for people.

We're builders of things and of people. We invest in the people who build with us, and we do the work for the Lord, not for applause.

“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Matthew 4:19

Jesus saw Peter and Andrew casting nets in the Sea of Galilee. He called them to follow him, using their trade as the picture: instead of catching fish, they would bring people to God. They left their nets and followed.

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
Colossians 3:23

Paul wrote this to the church in Colossae, including servants doing everyday labor. He tells them to work wholeheartedly, because their work is ultimately done for the Lord, not for human masters or approval.
